People usually go in groups so you can meet new people and make friends while you’re walking. This year I’m going to do the Great Wall of China trek. I’ve always wanted to go to China. I’ve been a sailor since I was a child so I feel very comfortable on the sea but I know that this race is only for people who have had a lot of experience and it’s very tough. The weather can be really bad at that time of year as well. It’s definitely not for someone who can’t swim!Paula I love horses so I’m going to do the Mongolian Horse-riding Challenge. I’ve seen so many pictures of Mongolia in books and on the Internet and now I’m really going to raise the money to go there. It’s for two weeks and we’re going to do it in the summer so it’s going to be very hot in the desert, and cold at night of course. I’m busy raising money at the moment but hope to have all the money I need soon.Casey Why don’t you think about the London to Paris Cycle Ride? Hundreds of people are going to enter. It’s tough but not that tough and you can go at your own speed. You don’t have to race. It’s good for all ages too and last year there were a few people in their seventies. The good thing is that you don’t have to fly anywhere to start the fun.Anne You don’t have to go abroad to raise money! Why don’t you organise some events in your local area? There are so many things you can do. In the past I’ve organised concerts, parties, talent shows and coffee mornings. That way you also meet local people.
